How much does a business coach cost in Australia?
It's one of the first questions owners ask, and one of the hardest to get a straight answer to. Many coaches don't publish their prices. This guide explains how coaching is usually priced, what actually drives the cost, and exactly what we charge, so you can compare like with like.
The four ways business coaches price
1. Per session
You pay for each session as you go. It's flexible and low-commitment, but there's usually little support between sessions, and progress depends on you keeping momentum alone.
2. Monthly retainer
A fixed monthly fee covers a set number of sessions plus support between them, usually with a minimum term. This is the most common model for ongoing 1:1 coaching, because real change in a business takes months, not weeks.
3. Group programs
A small group of owners works through a structured program together over a set number of weeks. The cost per person is lower, and you learn from other owners' decisions as well as your own. The trade-off is less individual time.
4. Intensives and strategy days
A single, longer session, often a full day, focused on one outcome such as a written strategy. Good for a clear deliverable in a short time.
What drives the price
- →Frequency. Weekly sessions cost more than fortnightly or monthly.
- →Support between sessions. Email access, short calls and response times all add value and cost.
- →What you take away. Written strategies, action plans, audits and systems builds take preparation time.
- →Experience. A coach who has run businesses brings different value from one who has only trained as a coach.
- →Term. Longer commitments often hold a rate or include more.
What Strategy Within costs
Every price is published, in Australian dollars and excluding GST:
Not sure which fits? The strategic planning page compares the Starter and the VIP Strategy Day, and the business coaching page explains the Destination Partnership in full.
How to judge value, not just price
The cheapest option is rarely the best value, and the most expensive isn't automatically the best. Before you sign with any coach, ask:
- →Have you run a business yourself, and at what stage?
- →What exactly do I get between sessions?
- →How will we measure whether it's working?
- →What happens if it isn't working?
- →What is the minimum term, and what happens after it?
Our answer to the fourth question is the Core commitment: show up to every session, do the agreed work, and if you're not clearer and more decisive than on day one, I'll coach you for up to four more sessions, free. Conditions apply.
Working with clients outside Australia
I'm based in Sydney and work with owners across Australia and overseas, online. Prices are in Australian dollars. GST is added for Australian clients; clients based outside Australia are generally not charged GST.

The simplest way to judge whether coaching is worth it is to experience it. The free CLARITY Session takes 30 minutes and leaves you with a written summary of your top three bottlenecks, whether or not we work together.
